Work From Home: Pros and Cons
Based on a couple months working a new job on a hybrid schedule.
WFH
Pros
- Wrap yourself up in a blanket.
- Peace and quiet.
- Your own snacks.
- Judgement-free music listening.
Cons
- Who are you people?
- Wow I forgot there’s an outside world.
- It would’ve taken two seconds to get an answer to this quick question in person.
In Office
Pros
- Reason to get out of the house.
- Easier to separate work mode and life mode.
- Human interaction.
- Easier to justify eating out for lunch (can be a pro or a con but I prefer it here).
- Quick questions actually are quick.
- Feel important when you use your badge to get in.
- The feeling of getting into a hot car at the end of a work day (only applicable during summer months).
Cons
- We’re all still doing Teams calls anyway and now you get to overhear calls you’re not a part of.
- Other drivers on commute.
- Increased awareness of your terrible computer posture.
- Human interaction.
