Listening to Live Recordings

There are times when all I want to listen to are live concert recordings. Not even the good quality soundboard recordings – I’m talking about the “taped and uploaded by some guy in the audience” recordings.

I can’t put my finger on it. Maybe they seem cozier in a way? Maybe it’s just been too long since I’ve been to a show.

As I’m writing this I’m listening to a recording of Low playing at the Great American Hall dated 2019-03-16. It’s raw, full of reverb, super dynamic, and I love it. It perfectly suits their kind of music. I’m hyped for their album coming out in a couple of weeks which could easily be their best yet if the tracks they’ve released so far are any indicator.
